Are We Moving? (Updated daily)

Last update: July 14

The month of June has been a whirlwind flurry of miscues for us at Maranatha!

In May, we were notified by our host church that their lease was up at the end of the month. They said that had tried to negotiate a workable renewal, but that it wasn’t working out well and they were looking to move elsewhere.  And that would mean we would need to do so as well.

Two weeks later, Heritage alerted us that they were now in better negotiations and it looked like they’d be staying at our current location for several years now, and that we could stop packing.

Thursday, June 22: we were called again, this time to share that those 2nd negotiations had not fared any better than the first, and they/we needed to be out by June 30 after all! We sent out word that we needed some help packing things up, and that call was answered by many folks offering to help. While they had found an alternative location, it would not be ready for weeks, and we don’t know where we’ll be worshiping.

Saturday, June 24: The AWANA Leadership Team (Nicole, Steve, Debbie and Willy) removed all of the AWANA materials and boxes from the storage closet. Looks better already!

Monday, June 26: “Mandy” (Matthew/Sandy Lawson and kids) joined Pastor George for a “packing party” Monday evening. Over the course of 3 hours or so, a third of the packing has already been completed … Praise God and thank you, “Mandy Family”!

Wednesday, June 28, 8:30 am: Another faithful group showed up this morning (Debbie, Donna, Jeremy, Dave, Paul, Susan, Gabriella, Timmy and Pastor George) and finished packing the rest of the closet!

Wednesday, June 28, 3:00 pm: Another call from Heritage Bible Church. It seems they were able to renegotiate with the landlord for a month-to-month rental while waiting entry into the new space. At this point, it seems, we will still be meeting at the same location for at least the next 2-3 months.

Thursday, July 6: Another call, another update. This time (hopefully the last) we were notified that the property management company had given us through the month of July.
