Welcome to Maranatha Community Church!
We are a community with a heart to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our vision is simple: We commit ourselves to Loving God and Loving Others by doing life together.
We have many different ministries here at Maranatha designed to help people grow their faith and walk with God. You’ll meet broken people at Maranatha, and you’ll also meet people who have been transformed and set free from the things that caused us so much brokenness. It’s that radical transformation that compels us to tell others about the love that changed us.
1. When do I show up?
Service times are Saturday mornings at 11:00 am, but we have Coffee Connection in the lobby beginning at 10:30.
2. How do I get there?
We’re located at 851 S. Mt. Vernon Avenue (Suite 7) in Colton, CA.
3. What do I wear?
We believe that God is more concerned with what’s going on inside than what we wear on the outside (1 Samuel 16:7). So, you’ll find that we’re pretty casual – shorts, jeans, t-shirts, slacks, dresses – it’s all good. You won’t normally find many suits and ties … but if that’s what you’re comfortable wearing, go for it!
4. Any programs for my children?
Our AWANA program runs during the school year and is for children from Pre-K thru 6th grade and offers Bible lessons, songs, games and activities. It meets from 9:00 – 10:30 each Saturday morning.
During our worship service, nursery is provided for children under 5. For the older children, “quiet bags” are available as you enter the Worship Center.
5. What happens in the lobby?
If you get lost, need some help, or would like more information regarding the church be sure to stop in at the lobby. You will find friendly volunteers to answer your questions and help you find your way around. We also have drinks and treats available!
6. What are your worship services like?
Our teaching is Biblically-based and our worship style is diverse utilizing both contemporary worship songs as well as traditional hymns.
The biggest surprise awaiting you, perhaps, is that we are a pretty small group … with 25-30 in attendance any given week. While admittedly smaller than many churches (if not most churches), the small group environment also provides a comfortable and intimate worship time.
While you’re in service, we’d appreciate it if you’d fill out a connection card (provided in the program) so we know you were here. You can drop it in the offering box as you exit the auditorium. Don’t feel obligated to give – let this first service be our gift to you (but we would appreciate still getting your connection card).
7. Any expectations of your visitors?
As a visitor to our service, you won’t be singled out in any way. You can remain completely anonymous if you want. But don’t be surprised if you don’t make it out the door without someone greeting you and trying to make you feel welcome and at home.
